How it works
Cost per cycle = energy per cycle × rate. Yearly cost = cost per cycle × cycles per week × 52; monthly is the yearly figure ÷ 12. Using the eco setting and only running full loads are the simplest ways to cut the total.
Frequently asked questions
Is the eco cycle really cheaper?
Yes. Eco cycles use lower water temperatures over a longer time, which uses less energy overall despite running longer.
Where do I find energy per cycle?
The energy label often lists kWh per 100 cycles (divide by 100) or per cycle. If unsure, 1–1.5 kWh is typical.
Is a dishwasher cheaper than hand washing?
Usually yes for full loads — a modern dishwasher uses less hot water than washing the same dishes by hand under a running tap.
