How it works
Power saved = (old watts − LED watts) × number of bulbs ÷ 1000. Energy saved per year = power saved × hours/day × 365. Annual saving = energy saved × your rate. Payback = total LED cost ÷ annual saving (shown in years).
Frequently asked questions
How much can LED bulbs save?
An LED uses about 80–90% less power than an incandescent for the same brightness. Across a whole home the savings often pay for the bulbs within a year.
What LED wattage replaces a 60W bulb?
Roughly 8–10W of LED produces the same light as a 60W incandescent. Match by lumens, not watts, for accuracy.
Do LEDs last longer too?
Yes — LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours versus ~1,000 for incandescents, so you also save on replacements (not counted in this estimate).
